INTRODUCTION
Dear
reader, once again I am thankful to God for all his
blessings.
I wish to
also remind you that I have included readers of Prophecy of
the Remnant on my special prayer list.
Some may
think that this study on visions is not vital to one’s
Christianity, or standing in the Lord, but I hope to prove
from God’s word that it is best that all the Saints, and or
sinner see, and know, what God’s word has to say concerning
this very
Out
standing subject; yes we all need to see for ourselves if it
is, or is not, vital to our spiritual life before we make
our final decision whether: to believe or not to believe.
Knowing
that there are sinners who believe that God does not give
his people visions, also being brought to the understanding
that there are some of my dear brethren who are skeptical
about it as well; mixed with some of my personal experiences
through visions God has given me; or visions divinely
inspired some people may feel more comfortable if I say it
this way.
Any way,
these reasons above mentioned has increased my zeal of this
study.
Knowing
that writing for the Lord is one of the things he wants me
to do; has enabled me to take the subject of VISIONS
as an additional subject to my daily Bible study, and to
present this study to honest, humble hearts who are willing
to study along with us.
Even if
you have studied on this said subject before, we invite you
to restudy it with us; and let God’s word have permanence in
you life, and study always.
“Let God
be true and every man a liar.” Romans 3: 4, Amen.
I have come to believe that far too many times,
too many good people fall into unbelief of the truth of
God’s word, along with many other of it’s important subjects
because of: placing too much faith in their peers, parents,
pastors, preachers, teachers, but why?
ONE
because
they refuse to study which is one of the most common
reasons, TWO holding on to tradition, along with
other reasons.
“Study to
show thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth (need)
not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2.
Tim. 2: 15,
Read also
Col. 2: 8. There is only one way for us to truly avoid the
deception spoken of here; and that is for us to do as 2.
Timothy 2: 15, admonishes us.
Let me share with you what I and many others
who study God’s word faithfully have learnt: (ONE)
Seek God for revelation of the truth; if you seek him
earnestly he will give you all the help you need. (Two)
When going to study God’s word, get a dictionary, the best
is a Webster’s (preferable unabridged) (Three)
a good concordance, (four) if possible a commentary,
and a copy of the History of the Bible.
We use Matthew Henry, and Adam Clark commentary;
and highly recommend Matthew Henry.
I have
heard it said: “God said it, I believe it, and that settles
it.”But I have some what a bit of a problem with this
statement.
“God said
it, and that settles it is enough for me. Amen”
Brethren,
and friends, what we believe, or do not believe about what
God says does not truly change God’s
word; for it have withstood all it’s critics, and scoffers
over all the years; and will continue to stand triumph; and
will forever.
Our
belief in the Lord will establish us in him, or our
disbelief will destroy us and keep us from God as the word
says: “And as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee.”
Mat.
8: 13, 1.
Thes. 2: 12
Our, our
belief in him will save us. Heb.4: 3,
10: 39.
Remember
dear reader our destiny depends on our decision.
Christians, our entire life should be one to
lift God up.
Always
remember our lives will bless, or cause damage to us and to
those around us.
“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to
any people.” Prov, 14: 34.
Sinner friend if you will just take God at his
word, trust him, and call on him from your heart for the
cleansing of your precious soul from sin, then stay
faithful, you shall be saved also from eternal damnation.
LET’S STUDY
visions
This
subject of the Bible is vital to our spiritual, and
physically life.
It was
once said, “It is
much
wiser to choose what you say, than to say what you
choose.”
First of
all, I would like to say; from studies I have
found
that there are four categories of visions.
1. Imagination,
(2)
Sight,
(3)
Supernatural hearing,
(4)
Revelation to the mind.
Let us
look farther into these, in alphabetical order.
From the
Webster’s dictionary: (Imagination means) (a) the power of
the mind to form, or create a mental image. (A power or
ability created in human.) (i.e.) 1. An artist imagined
the portrait of a beautiful woman beside a waterfall.
2. Or
the writer visions (imagines) what he or she will write
about.
3. a
little girl visions herself being an adult as she wears her
mother’s apparels.
(b)
(Sight) the mystical experience of seeing as if with the
eyes, the supernatural, or a supernatural being.
Let me
give a few scriptures for thought,
One may
be awake, in a trance, or in a dream
(i.e.) please read: (1) (Awake) Matt. 17: 1-9; (note
Vs 9) & Rev-9: 17, note: John was awake, Acts 7: 29-31.
(2) (Trance)
Num. 24: 4; Acts 10: 10, 11: 5;
(3) (Dream)
Gen. 46: 2 Job 33: 15.
(c)
(Supernatural hearing) please read: Acts 9: 10-12; & Acts
18: 9-10.
(d) (Revelation
to the mind) in understanding please read: 2. Cor. 12:
1; & Gal. 1: 12, (i.e.)
1.
Revelation by perception (insight), which can come
in, thought, (imagination) or sight, (to see, or
behold) and hearing, (the sense by which sound is
perceived) or it can come with all three of these that
are here mentioned.
Speaking
on personal experience, sometimes all five senses
can be involved, not necessarily all at once,
but not impossible; if the vision is divinely inspired.
After all God is Almighty.
Manifestations (i.e.) John on the Isles of Patmos which was
the greatest vision any man (human) has ever had,
please read the book of revelations (note V 1: 10) in
chapter 9: 17; clearly tell us that John’s experience on the
Isles of Patmos was a vision, that is why it is
called The Revelations.
A few
more scriptures of Visions with sight and sound are listed
in the scriptures in the next column.
(Acts10:
3, 17, 19; 11: 5; 12: 9; 16: 9, 10; 18: 9. Luke 1: 9-22; 24:
23.
Dear
reader, if God can open eyes and ears he can open the other
three senses as well. Can he not?
There are
much more scriptures of true visions than I could list here,
which would make this study much too large, and not
necessary for the honest receptive heart.
Yes, I
agree that there has, and still are being false
visions, some administered direct from Satan, and
some by his cunning, crafty ways through the weakness of
human, such as wine, and strong drink; read Isa. 28: 7. Sad
to say, but such were not just in Isaiah’s time; but some
are still around today.
(a)
What kind of people error
in
vision, and judgment?
Those who
use alcoholic drinks, and any kind of habit-forming drugs,
but also those that the Devil can use in any field; one
being a prophet, pastor, teachers, or a layman does not
matter; the Devil loves to use Christian people or those who
profess be Christians.
Note, a
true prophet is one who
Conway
divinely inspired revelations; and is proven to be true.
False prophets are inspired as well, but through
evil inspiration.
I have
heard it said that a prophet is also a preacher, true that
is; be them true or false; yes thank God he can use
preachers, teachers, pastors, or layman as prophets as well
as sometime one is only a prophet.
Are not
all four of these above mentioned offices different? Note
before we move on; let it be known: God used and still can
use the lay person that is faithful to him; Remember
Samuel?
The Story
of Samuel can be found in 1.Sam. 3:
Jer.
23: 16, Brethren or friend, be sure and know who prophesy to
you, or rather whose prophecy you heed to; before heading to
their prophecy, try them.
Yes, try
them. See 1 John 4: 1.
Try them
how?
By the
word of God, that’s how, they must be tried.
We must
study and know the doctrine of Christ, and see if their life
lines up with it; and if it does we are in the clear, and if
it does not steer clear if you can not steer them in the
clear.
Trying
them is another subject and another major point of study;
and may Father spare life that we will be able to have that
in the lot for the year.
What kind
of prophets, pastor, preacher, or teacher that does not
hearken to (listen)? The way God wants
something done; or that in any way destroys the flock
(congregation)? Rebellious and, or false, and what will be
their lot? Look at Jer. 23: 1, (i.e.)
Again there could be much more scriptures used to bring
forth the truth on Visions, but just incase you may need
more scriptures, and wish to obey God in studying his word;
get a good concordance if you do not have one already, and
look up on vision and I admonish you plunge right in to
study; and may God bless your understanding.
Before closing let’s look into a few more
scriptures; Acts
2: 17,
Joel 2: 28-29. It is up to you now dear one to make your
decision whether to believe God or man.
Allow me to inject here just a short portion of
the STUDY OF UNBELIEF, (In God’s word), as this is
necessary at this time.
Please
read: John 16: 8-9 yes, unbelief is sin.
IT
PROCEEDS (comes from) (1.) an evil heart. Heb 3: 12;
(2.) Slow
of heart. Luke 24: 25;
(3.)
Hardness of heart. Mark
16: 14;
(4.) From
disinclination to the truth; John
8: 45,
46;
(5) From
judicial blindness, John
12: 39,
40.
UNBELIEF
IN MAN (human) IS EVIDENCE THAT: (1.) he is not
Christ sheep. John 10: 26;
(2.) He
(that one) is seeking honor John 5: 44. Amen.
Romans 1: 18-22, let us not fall in any of these categories
dear ones, for God’s word is forever settled in Heaven. Psa.
119: 89 and God is no respect of person. Rom.
2: 11.
Thank God
for mental and spiritual vision/s.
For one
to have unbelief of visions, which is a wonderful method God
has used, and still sometime use to guide his people, and
aid his Creation.
One
may stand in great danger of spiritual,
physical, material, destruction, as God may choose to lead
one, either direct (by themselves) or through another
person, but if one does not believe they will loose their
blessings. (i.e.) Read 1. Sam. 3: 3-18; see how God used
Samuel when he did not even know anything about him, but
note, First Samuel tried to know who called him,
secondly he obeyed, and listened, Rev. 1: 10-20; 2:
1-29; 3: 1-22.
After
reading, can you imagine all John would have missed if he
had rebelled against the vision Jesus gave to him; and we
would not have the blessings we have today through his
vision.
Let’s
consider the three visions listed below; and answer to
yourself what you think about them.
Mary the
mother of Jesus, what if she had ignored the vision she had
concerning being his mother.
Joseph’s
vision concerning him taking Mary as his wife.
What
would have happened if Joseph had ignored the vision on
taking Jesus out of Egypt?
Yes, of
course, remember to try the spirits, that’s how you will
know if they are good, or bad. (True or false,)
Please read: 1 John 4: 1 “know them that labor (work) among
you. 1Thes.5: 12.
Thank God
for spiritual and mental visions. Amen.
May
I here share A BIT OF MY TESTIMONY?
I hope
and pray that this will bless your soul.
I would
take this opportunity to testify of the goodness of God, my
Heavenly father’s blessings towards me throughout the year
in every way.
I will
tell of one of the visions Father has given me.
In July
2000, my husband and I were on our way to
Miami
on Am-track; we were returning from a camp meeting in
Richman
Virginia.
About
five in the morning of the said day in which we arrived in
Miami;
we were asleep in our cabin, of course my husband took the
top bunk.
Was I
asleep, and was awoken, or was I asleep and was in spirit? I
know not, God knows, but one thing I do know; I stood that
morning facing a man that was well dressed in the most
beautiful cream color outfit I have ever seen; was it a full
suit, or a robe; I am not sure, but the cream seemed to be
lined or mixed with shinny Satin that seemed to glow with a
cool light.
This man stood right in our cabin door with his
arms stretched open upwards; the Palm of his hands rested
against the frame of the door.
I was drawn to look over his shoulder; and in so
doing, I saw behind him a host of people dressed as he was;
he then started talking to me about the train accident that
would take place,
When he
was finish I asked him if she would derail and he replied;
no, she will not and no one would be hurt.
I was then sure that I had asked him what he had
already told me.
I then turned away and went back to my bunk;
in body or spirit, I know not; but I then pulled
the little curtain in the window across, laying there, I
watched as the scenery pass by swiftly; when suddenly it was
as if the train stood still, and there I was again standing;
this time at the side of the train looking at an Angel with
out stretched wings which covering both ends of the train.
This train literally pulled over Ninety Coaches.
I then thought “Lord just one Angel?”
then suddenly I repented saying: “Father forgive me; if they
are that size I only need one.”
At that interrupt time I knew I was Lying there
in my little bunk awake as I now, when suddenly I felt the
train as if it had hit some big object, and then I smelt a
smoke as that of burning rubber.
I wondered if my Husband was awake and
had felt what I had, and if he smelt what I smelt.
I waited only a few seconds for him to speak to
me but he did not, then it was clear I could hear that he
was still asleep; so I decided that if the smoke smell
lasted just a few seconds more I would ring the alarm that
was on the wall over the head of my bunk. Not much longer
than that thought, the smell was all gone.
It was then that I realized that I had, had a
vision.
At devotion that morning, which took place about
eight-fifteen to eight-thirty; while peacefully on our way
to
Miami,
I told my husband the vision, and we rejoiced each in our
own way.
We sat playing checkered in our cabin, about
12: 15 PM wile awaited the call for lunch; it was then we
felt the train hit something; I said to my husband, “That’s
how I felt it this morning.” And all of a sudden we smelt
the smoke; I again informed him that, that was the said kind
of smoke I had smelt.
By then, some of the crew was around checking on
the passengers. Thank God I was able, through it all
to comfort not only my husband, but the passenger in the
obesity cabin also.
The train sat on the main or central rail for a
long time; because she had lost one engine for she had hit a
bus, as its driver had tried out running the train; no one
on the train, or bus which as you would guess being hit by a
train was written off but Praise God, no one was hurt.
Of course the news copters and Police did not
take long to be on the seen doing their job.
We reached Miami Late that evening, but safe;
all thanks to our Heavenly, true, Holy, Faithful, all
knowing, all mighty Father for having my husband and I
prepared, and comforted before, in, and through that
ordeal. Amen.
